About

Miroslava Jurcik was born in December 1967 in the Czechoslovakian Socialist Republic.  Growing up there was fun and safe at that time.  Even though there were queues for good meat and some other specific stuff and adults were not allowed to speak freely about politics, life for kids and teenagers was good. Until it came to higher or middle school that is, in that case, you needed to know someone in the political party.  However, my parents ran away from the Czech when I was only 2 years old, and that was a black mark against me,  so it was a great surprise when I got into nursing school to become a children’s registered nurse.  I was always a good student and I loved children.  They were so much more polite those days :).

I also loved my aunt and uncle who raised me.  We did not own a car, but we would catch a bus or go on our bicycles to the weekend house.  Most people in the Czech used to have weakened houses back then.   Our one was made out of wood and surrounded by forests.  We used to collect herbs, berries, mushrooms, and wood from the forest to eat and make fresh jams etc.  Life at the weekend house was an adventure.
