Since it is high in citral, citronellal, linalool, and geraniol oils, comes through as a sweet citrus scent.

Lemon balm has a documented medicinal history extending back from 50–80 BC (Kennedy et al., 2003).
This perennial in the mint family is native to mountainous areas of southern Europe and northern Africa but has naturalized in many warm places around the globe.
Lemon Balm tea has traditionally also been used for alertness, insomnia, PMS, and stress. It was also used to ease indigestion, nausea, and bloating, as well as colic.
